‘Freedom is wild.’

Plank Face is a 2016 American horror feature film directed by Scott Schirmer (Harvest LakeFound) from a screenplay co-written with Brian Williams. The Bandit Motion Pictures movie stars Nathan Barrett, Susan M. Martin and Brigid Macaulay.

A man is taken captive by a feral family in the deep woods. They are determined to transform him, body and mind, into one of their own — whether he likes it or not…

Reviews [click links to read more]:

“This is an uncomfortable, grueling, tale that’ll be hard to swallow by some, but it definitely resonates as a powerful horror film that is a true test to endure. If you’re brave, give Plank Face a try. It’s a mesmerizing display of primal terror.” Ain’t It Cool News

“The characters do not have much dialogue after the initial 15 minutes or so and so are forced to emote entirely through body language, quite a feat consider two of the characters where masks for more than half of their screentime, thereby eliminating the possibility of facial expressions. And the aforementioned musical scores are simply haunting.” The Blood-Shed

“There’s something thrilling about seeing actors so willing to lay themselves bare (pun intended) within the horror genre, which so often creates distance between the actors and material through special effects or stylization or just plan ironic disconnection. Plank Face demands 100% buy in from both sides of the screen.” F This Movie!

“Not much dialogue in Plank Face period, let alone whimsical lines to quote to your friends. This is a dark, unnerving film at times, but it doesn’t have a chaotic tone. So Plank Face is by no means a normal movie experience, but don’t expect lunacy or total madness either.” Marc Fusion

” …the film is very sparse in dialogue and the score of the film that was composed by Brian predominately becomes a narrator to the proceedings as the film builds to the heartbreaking yet logical climax that had me hurting yet also nodding in approval […] Scott, Brian and the crew have crafted a true piece of art with Plank Face.” Terror Time

” …we have all manner of weird and unpleasant goings-on: rape, cannibalism, torture, and disfigurement are there in abundance, and much of the cast spend the bulk of their screentime fully or partially naked. Clearly this might all be a tad bit intense for the more casual horror viewer, but seasoned genre fans will recognise and appreciate the underlying dark humour that keeps things from getting too nasty.” Warped Perspective

Plank Face is not meant for everyone, but if you have enjoyed Schirmer’s previous films or if you are looking for a shocking film that also has a solid story to it, then this one’s for you, sicko.” We Live Entertainment
