‘Evil has chosen…’

Forsaken is a 2016 American supernatural horror film written, produced and directed by Justin Price (Dark Moon Rising; The Cloth). It should not be confused with The Forsaken by J. S. Cardone (2001).

screen-shot-2016-12-29-at-17-52-34When a Priest discovers his wife is deathly ill, he decides to go against his faith and use his knowledge of exorcisms to possess her in order to save her life.

Problems arise once he realizes his actions may have evoked the lost souls of all of the people he lost during his time as an exorcist. And now those same lost souls are out for revenge, as they seek another vessel to unleash the ultimate evil. He must now make the ultimate sacrifice or risk the emergence of the anti-Christ…

Reviews:

“One or two moments aside, this is a dull, confusing affair with a lack of any real structure to guide viewers smoothly through the bumpier narrative moments. Potentially good ideas are squandered in rambling conversations, the acting is pretty poor, and it’s pretty impossible to care about even one of the main characters.” Kevin Matthews, Letterboxd

Forsaken is a terrible movie with no redeeming qualities. No unintentionally funny scenes, no memorable scenes, no good performances. Painfully boring, terribly acted, poorly written. Avoid at all costs.” Kuba Grzeca, HorrorNews.net

“This is one muddled mess of a flick … The music mostly drowned out any dialogue. The dialogue sucked anyhow. The picture was grainy as well. Near the end it takes an absurd turn which doesn’t help the film’s cause.” Shawn, Letterboxd
