The-Unseen-2016Plot:

Bob Longmore (Aden Young), is a man who abruptly left his wife Darlene (Camille Sullivan) and daughter Eva (Julia Sarah Stone) and isolated himself in a small Northern town. He works at a saw mill and mostly keeps to himself, avoiding human interaction if at all possible. Bob abandoned his family because of his unique condition: He’s slowly going invisible, in an irregular and shocking way.

When Darlene reaches out to him, Bob returns home to reconnect with Eva, but as soon as he returns, Eva mysteriously goes missing. Now, it’s up to Bob to risk discovery and the life he’s created for himself in order to find the daughter he loves…

Review:

“The film does meander a bit, slowing down the narrative by squeezing too much story into such a short amount of time, so at times it does feel a bit unfocused—like it’s not sure which story it wants to tell. But other than my issues with that, The Unseen is undeniably original, a haunting exploration of a man finding himself through the love of his daughter, all in the midst of disappearing piece by piece.” Ryan C., The Missing Reel

“The direction is as solid as the script, and while I presume this was a lower budget film, it never comes across as such. Everything seems top notch, not the least of which are the effects. Hollywood hit a high water mark in 1993 with Jurassic Park and has grown increasingly lazy, with the SyFy Channel pumping out low-grade movies-of-the-week that feature creatures who look like awful cartoons … The folks working on The Unseen are pushing back.” Gavin Schmidt, KillerReviews.com

“With elements of science-fiction, drama, thriller and horror, The Unseen is a melting-pot of genres that mix together to create a compelling high concept story with a strong emotional core. A fantastical story grounded in reality The Unseen will get the grey matter working and the heart strings tugging.” Kat Hughes, The Hollywood News
